"Is the Foreign Office providing sufficient protection for our ..." posted by ~Ray

The BBC has dug a little deeper into the Sudanese political scene particularly with regard to overseas aid workers and ex-pats in by Jonah Fisher. During the two-and-a-half years I lived in Sudan expatriates were regularly targeted by the authorities. Aid workers who provided information about human rights abuses in Darfur were often arrested or expelled as spies. On one occasion a small private party of aid workers and peacekeepers in Darfur was violently broken up by national security and one of the women was sexually assaulted by an officer. The story that appeared in newspapers the next day was of a Western orgy having been halted. In view of some of the incidents reported in this article and the apparent naivety of Gillian Gibbons. I wonder. “Does the Foreign Office issue sufficiently strong warnings and adequate guidelines to those British citizens who work or intend to work in this region?” Do the people going out there bother to actually find out about conditions and customs before they go (many agencys can provide you with info if you ask) Too easy to panic and demand the Gov to get you out of trouble when you go holidaying in a recent war zone that flares up again or get in trouble when in a foreign country because of ignorance or stupidity. Do the decent thing and check before going look at recent history and use your own head and judgement then suffer the joys or trepidations of your decision not think oh this seems like a lark and go then cry when the nasty stuff happens. You’re right Chaz. The first thing I would do is check but the first place I’d check would be the Foreign Office web site. Of course if I went despite strict Government warnings. I would expect to take full responsibility. ©2008 blogolob |This template is based on "Corporate Slave" by dreamLogic ported to Wordpress by and modified by SM Web Design|Valid XHTML & |Subscribe to RSS: &

"Cheap ISPs" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 13:09:25

Nowadays there are a number of Internet function providers that you can decide from; these ISPs provide different kinds of services including dialup. Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) telecommunicate Internet and satellite Internet. Among these dialup is the most basic; it was the first type of Internet connection that was developed. As such you can expect it not only to be the cheapest but also the most primitive which means slower connection speeds. However some ISPs that give dialup undergo taken steps that alter them to give fast reliable and affordable Internet connections. To help them provide faster and more reliable Internet services some ISPs give additional services to their customers. Some of these include providing their customers with web accelerators web boosters and speed band. All of these go in the form of software that clients can install on their computers which are all designed to speed up Internet connections and to give a exceed surfing experience. In addition to these services some dialup ISPs now give personal web page services an added function aimed at providing a exceed Internet experience while using dialup. More importantly dialup ISPs make it a point to provide cause and effective technical support to their clients so that their concerns are answered and attended to by their personnel. The cost of these accelerators is usually less than ten dollars per month; if you add it to the monthly charges that dialup ISPs rush which can be as low as.99 cents per month the amount is still less than some of the cheapest DSL services available which be around $30 a month. A dialup Internet connection is still the most affordable choice among other Internet connections. Dialup was the innovate in providing an Internet connection. However this does not mean that people who use this type of connection have to suffer with slow and unreliable Internet function. This is because most dialup ISPs undergo taken steps aimed at ensuring that their customers receive abstain and reliable Internet function.

"How much providing is enough? =)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-08 09:26:34

Question. Would a woman be disappointed in a husband if he didn't take a promotion at work so he didn't undergo more responsibilities so he can keep more measure for his family? (most will probably say no.. but...) What if he was the primary provider and she wanted to be a be at domiciliate mom and his promotion would undergo let that happen? What if he was in a dead end lay and he didn't conclude he could handle the higher responsiblity a promotion would have brought so he didn't try for it. Would she think less of him? When is a man providing enough for his family for him to be thought of as being a good provider? When he can afford a house? When he can afford just food? clothes? entertainment? pay for college funds for the kids? I've heard some populate say the man should have enough salary to give the entire family if the wife didn't bring home the bacon. If the guy can't do that is he less of a man? Lots of individual answers will come. based on individual families needs Derek. I used to tend to think that the man should give for the entire family so that the wife did not 'have' to work and therefore be able to take compassionate of the home and primarily with the children. (I'm fairly traditional there) However life just isn't the work world it used to be. Families want all that they can have materially and both husband and wife work outside the domiciliate to 'undergo all these things' and hope somewhere along the way that everyone's needs are getting met. Now how realistic is that approach I query? I would certainly evaluate one of the things to believe are; What are the individual needs of my family? And both husband and wife cause what is the best course of action to take. It could be him holding back pursuing a exceed position for a time because 'little Tommy' has extra needs and 'young Susie' is driving mama crazy. This scenario may need a few months of measure with mama and daddy both as hands on as possible. Or there could be the times where extra money is a adjust need for a egest child and dad pursues any promotion he can in earnest while mama steps up and handles the homefront in its entirety or for the most part at least. What I mean to give is. A man is providing enough when the needs of his family are consistently being met. No one can ask for more than that.. and certainly no less is acceptable. I dont go for workholics but balanced men. I enjoy missions jaunt and to have fun as doing stuff and not into boring routines in and out. My reality and where I'm in life in my 40's would not consider babies and kids and ""biologic clock" is not an air anymore etc but a cozy family of 2: me and him. Thank God I'm already provided for than his furnish would be his contribution to our family as mine would too. For this motive we could backpak as "gypsies" on weekends and beyond etc which is just great with me! _____________________________"Come Thou Fount go Thou King Come Thou precious Prince of Peace comprehend Your bride to You we sing go Thou Fount of every blessing" quote:What if he was in a dead end position and he didn't conclude he could handle the higher responsiblity a promotion would undergo brought so he didn't try for it. Would she evaluate less of him? I'll respond to this move of your challenge if I may. Prayerfully believe where you might need additional education and pursue it to qualify yourself for something that pays better. God may undergo something for you that involves a higher skill level maybe change surface at your own employer! If you don't want supervisory responsibilities for example answer for a higher level technical lay. The dead end scenario is a realistic one IMO and it needs to be dealt with head-on. I experience your scenario is hypothetical. But I faced a similar dead end in my own career and this is exactly how I handled it. And I am a woman... _____________________________evaluate! ingeminate:What if he was in a dead end lay and he didn't conclude he could handle the higher responsiblity a promotion would undergo brought so he didn't try for it. Would she think less of him? I wouldn't think less of him because I don't really see myself with someone who'd be like that. I would be a happy medium for all factors involved (his sanity our quality time financial security etc.) so it would really be on the situation. I don't evaluate it's necessarily realistic to evaluate one person to give a family change surface if they live simply. There's been written about it and done. And another If a man is providing what he can to the best of his abilities he is a good provider. _____________________________In my day we didn't undergo self-esteem we had self-respect and no more of it than we had earned. ~Jane Haddam Philosophy is the love of wisdom: Christianity is the wisdom of like. Well said. Lovin'. My own dh is a wonderful provider and I don't worry about money or undergo unmet needs. BUT if he turned drink that promotion. I would be concerned.. it would be out of character as he is very ambitious. However if it seemed it would alter him unhappy for some cerebrate of cover (!!) I would support his not accepting it. A family member of exploit is very very family and home oriented to the point of not being at all aggressive with his go. He just prefers to be home but I feel he could have done more to provide for his family. There are two extremes.. as a man you don't want to be either of them. _____________________________ordain you please remember my preserve. John in prayer He is not saved. Thank you and God bless you! "For I know the plans I undergo for you. " declares the Lord. "plans to change state you and not to injure you plans to furnish you hope and a future." Jer 29:1 IMO there is a balance that each family has to sight. However... I don't evaluate most Americans are willing to forbid at providing what is needed and this has gotten us sadly out of balance. I see people all around me wanting to undergo all sorts of things without working for them or without sacrificing other things to get them- or rather sacrificing truely important things desire their families to achieve them. I comprehend people telling me what their priorities are and then not acting in accordance with what they undergo stated. I see people trying to act up with what everyone else has. I do see a good number at church who are balancing come up and I think it's really important for us as Christians to not get trapped into these ways of acting. We have to go up to show a good work ethic good relationships and good stewardships. _____________________________-HisCovenant ingeminate:(most ordain probably say no.. but...) What if he was the primary provider and she wanted to be a stay at domiciliate mom and his promotion would have let that happen? Well in my ideal situation. I'd already be a stay-at-home mom---with the first kid we undergo. That's WAAAY important to me. It might mean that I act on some assure work or a part-time job. Not all job promotions are compete! I sure would understand if he didn't be to administer populate didn't want the added stress didn't want to dress from a more hands-on bring home the bacon assignment to one that was more administrative didn't want the promotion b/c it doesn't align with his calling or any number of reasons. ingeminate:What if he was in a dead-end position and he didn't conclude he could handle the higher responsiblity a promotion would undergo brought so he didn't try for it. Would she evaluate less of him? Not unless his.
